What happens when you take kidney dialysis?

 




Kidney dialysis is a method of removing waste products and excess fluid from the blood when kidney is not working properly .This is also called as renal replacement therapy.



Dialyses treatment itself is painless. Some patients may feel low blood pressure. Due to low blood pressure, your stomach may be upset, feel vomit, have headache, muscles cramps and  itchy skin.Dialysis performs the function of kidney if they have failed.



What are the signs  that you need dialysis?



If you feel swelling in your legs, ankles and feet then you need to take kidney dialysis. The swelling is due to excess fluids in your system. Fluid increases in your lungs causes shortness of breath.



Most people can continue on dialysis for many years although the cure can only moderately compensate for the damage of kidney function. Having kidneys that do not work properly can place a important strain on the body.






Risk factors associated with kidney dialysis;



Low blood pressure


Anemia


Muscle cramping


Difficulty sleeping


Itching


High blood potassium


Irregular heartbeat


Inflammation of the membrane around the heart.


Patients feel significant muscle weakness and lack of endurance which are suffering from chronic kidney disease particularly those on dialysis.
