Irritable bowel syndrome is a disease that include repeated pain in your abdomen and changes in your bowel movement which may be diarrhea, constipation.



The signs and symptoms of IBS are given below;


1.  Abdominal pain

2.  Cramping or bloating

3.  Changes in how often you are having a bowel movement.

4.  Diarrhea

5.  Constipation

6.  Food intolerance

7.  Fatigue and difficulty sleepy

 

Types of IBS:

 

1.  IBS-D

2.  IBS-C

3.  IBS-M

 

Causes of Irritable bowel syndrome:

 

IBS can develop after a severe attack of diarrhea caused by bacteria or a virus.IBS might also be associated with a surplus of bacteria in the intestines. People exposed to stressful events, especially in childhood tend to have more symptoms of IBS.





 

Treatment of Irritable bowel syndrome:

 

The most common treatment of Irritable bowel syndrome is cognitive behavioral therapy which has been considered to be very effective. This therapy is provided by a trained mental health professional .Hypnotherapy has also been considered to help manage IBS symptoms.



IBS is a chronic condition and it may not go away compeletly.However medication and lifestyle changes can help you manage the symptoms of IBS.
