How to impede bedsores on a bedridden patient?
Bedsores
occur when a person is on bed rest or immobile, unconscious or unable to sense pain.
Bedsores are basically are ulcers that are formed on the skin that is under
pressure for long time .Bedsores are also called pressure injuries ,pressure
ulcers.
Bedsores is a common problem among older people and bedsores are related to the quality of care of that person which is bedridden. If a person is unable to sense pain and is not getting good nutrition bedsores can develop. Higher risk of bedsores are among diabetes patient.
Bedsores can be cured but need some care.
The precaution
which have to follow are given below;
1.
We
have to remove pressure on affected area.
2.
Protecting
the wound with antiseptic gauze or other dressings.
3.
We
have to give full good nutrition to patient.
4.
We
have to keep the wound clean otherwise bacteria will grow.
5.
Remove
all the dead skin around the wound.
6.
Negative
pressure wound therapy.
7.
Medicine
like cream should be apply on effected area.
8.
We
have to provide soft padding in wheelchairs to reduce the pressure.
9.
Turn
the position of patient after every two hours to prevent the sores.
10.
Check
the doctors after every week.
