What do we need to know about the omicron virus ?

 







The new omicron virus is much more infectious than previous variants, causing a surge in cases across the UK and in other countries. And although it is not clear yet whether we will be facing an overwhelming wave of hospitalization from the disease, it is important to remember that while omicron may feel like a cold to many of us ,it can still kill or cause long –term  symptoms that disturb daily life, especially  for people who have not been vaccinated .







 

Symptoms:

It is causing symptoms that are much more like a regular cold, particularly in people who have been vaccinated and fewer general systemic symptoms, such as nausea, muscle pains ,diarrheo and skin rashes.


Most common symptoms:

Most common symptoms for the new Omicron are fever ,cough ,tiredness ,loss of taste or smell.


Less common symptoms:

Less common symptoms for the new omicron are sore throat ,headache,aches,pains.diarrhoea,rsh on skin,discolouration of finger.


Serious disease:

Difficult breathing or shortness of breath ,loss of speech or mobility or confusion or chest pain.
