How can bacteria be used to fight against cancer?

Bacteria have very exceptional properties which make them a strong candidates to fight against cancer. They can increase their number at the site of cancer and can fight against cancer. Bacteria can produce immune-cell infiltration which can produces anti-cancer reactions.


To investigate  whether bacteria could fight ,doctors inoculated a single dose of bacteria clostridium novyi –NT to the tumors of 24 patients.


Fifteen patients had recovered from cancer. Bacteria could also active the immune system of body to fight against cancer. Researches are also taking immunotherapy to fight cancer and also taking combination of two therapies to fight against cancer and creating strong immune responses against cancer.


Bacteria as living microrobots to fight against cancer is a good scheme. Therapeutic bacteria to combat cancer current advances challenges and opportunities are present.

Many studies show that bacteria were able to form antibodies that could attach with hypoxia inducible factor.These studies recommended that a grouping of bacteriotherapy with radiotherapy could be beneficial methodology to fight against cancer.
